Froch Asks Hearn if GGG Will Come Up to 172

In Breaking news over night Eddie Hearn revealed that Carl Froch asked him if GGG would come up to 172 for a bout between the two. The reply from team GGG was that he would only come up to 170.

If GGG won’t go to 172 for Froch that is a really bad sign. Froch has been out of the ring for 3 years & GGG would start as a very heavy favorite. If the fight doesn’t get done over 2 lbs, that would be pure insanity.

Purses For Saturday Night Kovalev vs Ward

For Saturday Night’s Super Fight the following purses have been registered with the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

-       Andre Ward has a $5M guarantee.
-       Sergey Kovalev has a $2M guarantee. (Most likely earning more from Russian TV).

Both fighters are likely to earn more If the PPV produces successful results. A mark of 300 000 PPV buys would widely be seen as a significant success for the Light Heavyweight super fight. This would be identical to what Pacquiao vs Vargas recorded a couple of weeks ago.

Kell Brook Decides to Fight Errol Spence Jr

When Kell Brook took the GGG fight his courage became known to all. He has shown more courage & Instead of pursuing lucrative bouts at 154 & potentially waiting until mid 2017, Brook has informed his promoter Eddie Hearn to make the bout with Errol Spence Jr.

Brook will be defending his IBF Welterweight title. Nutritionists have informed Brook that he can make that weight healthy again. I’m not so sure personally, after putting on all that muscle for the GGG fight, this could be a bad idea.

This would represent an identical drop in weight to what Roy Jones did when he moved up & then back down from Heavyweight back to Light Heavyweight.

This is HUGE NEWS for boxing fans. The talent of Spence Jr can’t be denied. Spence Jr has been vocal about wanting the Brook fight & he will finally get his chance. This fight won’t be to far away either. Our guess is look out for a late March bout in the UK.

Let’s see what happens next. We will put our prediction article up later. Please RT our tweets and bring your friends over to boxing kingdom. This is a hobby site and we aim to promote boxing.

The Relationship Between Donald Trump & Boxing

Donald Trump & Boxing

We tried not to enter the political debate. 1 – Because we are a boxing channel. And 2 – We aren’t actually based in the USA apart from one of our writers.

Given the current nature of boxing in the State of New York. Trump could potentially have a positive impact on boxing.

Here are some facts about Trump & Boxing:

-       Donald Trump has been a long time boxing fan. He has attended many many title fights, from Mike Tyson, to recent GGG fights. His love for the sport can’t be denied.
- Trump was loyal to his friend Mike Tyson, when Tyson was in trouble for criminal charges.
-       Trump has owned casino’s in Atlantic City & he has been heavily involved in the boxing business side of things. Some achievements have been lowering ticket sales so fans could get ringside tickets cheaper at Tyson vs Spinks.
-       Trump still earns revenue from ESPN airing classic bouts, which Trump has rights to.

What does this mean? Well not to much. But given the current state of boxing in New York State, which is pretty much destroyed by the very expensive insurance cover which is mandated, Trump just may be able to help boxing out in the state. It’s a long shot. But being a boxing fan, it would have to be much more likely then a non boxing fan having power.

Hopefully boxing in New York State can recover. The hugely successful & popular promoter Lou Dibella has already cancelled club level fights, because after extremely expensive insurance, the shows will run at a loss.

NOTE : THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL POST. BUT HE IS A BOXING FAN. SO IT COULDN’T HELP WITH THE SITUATION IN NEW YORK STATE RIGHT? PROVIDE YOUR FEEDBACK.

Manny Pacquiao Hands A Beat Down To a Game Jessie Vargas

We tipped Vargas to win. What happened? Manny Pacquiao turned back the clock. His footwork, speed & combination punching was fantastic. At 37 years of age this performance was stunning.

Here are some key facts about the fight:

-       Manny looked sensational in every department.
-       Manny dropped Vargas in round 2. He also dropped Vargas two other times, which were ruled slips.
-       Vargas was game. He constantly tried to land his power shots and he showed a lot of courage. But he simply couldn’t deal with Manny’s speed and he got beat up.
-       Manny showed no signs of age and during the Top Rank commentary Timothy Bradley said Manny is the top guy at 147.

Whats Next?

The Floyd Mayweather Jr rematch will likely be next. Floyd was sitting ringside which is a first for a Manny fight. This fight will likely happen in May of next year. There is simply to much money on the table for this. It won’t be as big as the first fight, but even if it’s half as big, it will be a financial success for all. It will also be a nice way for two of the sports superstars to sign off. Possibly in a better fight.

Manny gets a 10 out of 10 tonight. He still hasn’t scored a KO win in 7 years so his power diminishing may be a concern. But overall he still was brilliant.
