Kell Brook vs GGG is SET : Read Who Wins & How?

The dream is set! The Kell Brook dream that is. Eddie Hearn is allowing his top fighter Kell Brook to fight GGG at 160 pounds on the 10th of September at the 02 Arena in London.

Why Did this fight happen?

Hearn grew sick and tired of Eubank Sr holding up the bout for his son Eubank Jr to fight GGG. Hearn gave Eubank Sr a deadline to make the fight. The Eubank’s had several weeks to get their act together, however Eubank Sr was making ridiculous requests, he was trying to run the entire show. So Hearn had an ace in the pack left! How could he bring GGG to the UK & keep the huge pay day for one of his fighters and his company? Well it was simple. Offer Kell Brook the fight. Brook as we all expected, took the fight.

Now despite wishing for Brook to win and shock the world. It’s highly highly unlikely that he wins. Despite both having similar fight night weights, GGG is muscular, he’s built like a truck and as the great Carl Froch said “he hits like a mule” (yes Carl Froch who knocked out George Groves in front of 80 000 at Wembley).

So GGG should win this in rather one sided fashion. However Brook is a smart guy! No one who has fought GGG thus far has been smart at all. Stevens has shown an okay game plan, when he was hurt, he mixed his game plan up a bit. He stayed patient and threw back at the right times hurting GGG at one stage, although not to bad, simply rocking GGG for a moment.

So what does Brook need to do? It’s simple. Do the Hopkins vs Pavlik trick. Fight in spurts. When on the inside hold. Move, throw combinations. Pick the right time. Take a minute off when you can, although realistically against GGG he will be lucky to take a few seconds off. It’s up to Kell & his trainers to come up with a decent game plan, something other opponents of GGG have been able to do.

Who has held GGG? Who has fought defensively? Who has used old style tricks like spitting the mouth guard out to get extra time? The answer is no one has yet. Everyone has been over rawed by the occasion and the beast who is in front of them. If Brook can overcome the emotion, remain calm and fight to a perfect game plan, then who knows. But GGG should win this. For boxing’s sake a Kell Brook win would be beautiful.

Spare a thought for Eddie Hearn. He has a lot riding on this one including his reputation. However the Brook vs Khan bout is always there.

  1. Aint no tactics gonna save Kell from a beatin,GGG has seen it all and can deal ruthlessly with any style. Its only a matter of time before he catches up with the elusive Brook and stops him..round three or four.

  4. Damn right! Nobody has hurt GGG & I'd like to point out to the haters who say that GGG gets hit too often! Golovkin drops his hands on purpose cause he wants to see what they've got? He has openly admitted doing that & the haters say he gets hit cause he cannot box! Golovkin knows the fight is over when he wants it to be so he then drops his hands & goads opponents into letting go on him cause in his own words "show me what you've got!) how badass in that lol
    Genady GGG Glolovkin p4p CHAMPIONI

  5. As much as I like Kell at least hes testing himself with the ultimate risked unlike many other fake champs. Although I would have loved to had seen him fight Garcia, Thurman or even Broner this is going to be just as enjoyable til the last punch.

  6. Torn here, as a Brit I'd like Brook to have as much success as possible, but I really believe GGG is an ATG and extremely special fighter, with a crowd pleasing style, so I like him too. Either way whatever happens will happen, and the most likely scenario is Brook keeping GGG off him for a few rounds, before getting caught and finished ruthlessly.
Ward wants no part of GGG and is now at 175, how is a blown up welter going to do anything with him?

  7. The reason GGG keeps on winning and is going to knock Brook out, is because fighters like GGG wins not only on talent but, he has the insatiable hunger to defeat his opponent. It is survival for a guy like GGG , not a sport . This guy relies on boxing to bring him up in the world. You cannot instill that type of drive into a guy- K Brook.Until GGG lets the $$$ spoil him, and it will, he will continue to pound the competition.

  8. Hi Gav here,
I'm not sure why brook has taken this fight but fair play to him.
Now We've seen fights like this over the years with the likes of leanord and Duran moving through the weights.
It can be done and I'm going to put it out there and say that I think Brook will win.
    May the best man win

  9. I Respect every boxer who enters the ring putting his life at risk as well as his families .Kell Brook is a very good fighter , he showed heart by coming to Shawn Porters turf and taking his belt . but he has no clue the level of fighter triple G is. look for a 2nd round knock down drama show 3,4,5,6. and 7 round stoppage when his corner throws in the white towel

  10. Quite interesting that nobody gives Kell a chance. Tell you what I'll put my money three ways 1) he not get knocked out before 6th, 2) not get knocked out at all 3) he takes the point wins fight. Can't wait to see Kell

  11. I can only see one winner in this. GGG has too much power and he just keeps on coming forward. Also I feel that his boxing skills are underrated as the way he cuts the ring off and always seems to stay in range. He won't mind taking a few shots just to get his own off usually in devastating fashion. Brook won't get any rest and as long as the fight goes he will be getting broken down. I predict a 7th round stoppage win for Golovkin

  14. Keith. Yes there's footage of it on YouTube. No name landed a clean flash knockdown ob ehat looked like a counter right hand. Wasn't anything overly powerful. Brook also won't be able to clench the much bigger ggg. He will get hit cleanly. And unless he's gtown a margarito like chin, this one should he over in 5.
