Arthur Abraham vs Gennady Golovkin At 168, Should Happen Next!

Arthur Abraham vs GGG at 168 is a fight to see. Make it next.

Arthur Abraham looked great on the weekend, realistically the best since 2011. Abraham looked at his devastating best with various power punching combinations landing on Steiglitz at will. Steiglitz always put up a good show and he got dropped in the 4th round by a jab and then he got dropped by a huge right hand in the 6th round. Despite being limited Arthur Abraham has always had very good power which makes a bout with GGG very interesting.

GGG isn’t the most slick boxer you will ever meet. He is a relentless power puncher who pressures constantly for every second of every round. Abraham does have that x factor in his amazing power and this could make a bout with GGG very interesting. GGG will also have the option of winning a world title in a 2nd weight division which would make a unification bout with Andre Ward even bigger. GGG vs Abraham is also big money in Europe, both have large fan bases there and Abraham is also well known in the US, fighting here several times over the years.

Essentially I have no interest in seeing Abraham fight DeGale or Dirrell, he should avoid slick boxers. However a bout with GGG is mouth watering. It will be bombs away from a very early period in the fight. It will be a good indication to see how GGG handles the power of a stronger and heavier fighter.

The fight will be a big hit in the US, combined with being a virtual mega fight in Europe, especially in Germany. The money both camps can make from this bout is astounding. Probably looking at $3 million fee from US networks combined with double that from European revenue sources. So for $5 m each, GGG vs Abraham should happen next.

Two power punchers facing off, in GGG’s biggest test to date. What’s not to like?
